Consul General met with Mayor of Istanbul

On 9 July 2019, Aleksei Shved, Consul General of the Republic of Belarus in Istanbul, met with Ekrem Imamoğlu, newly elected Mayor of Istanbul. The Belarusian diplomat congratulated Ekrem Imamoğlu on his taking office on 27 June.

The parties discussed a number of issues on the inter-regional agenda in economy, education, and culture. Special focus was given to twinning links between the municipalities, involvement with infrastructure-related projects, supplies of products. Specific considerations were voiced by the Belarusian Consul General with regard to the arrangements in support of the Belarusian community in Istanbul.
