Solemn events held in Çanakkale with Belarus Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs in attendance

On 2 April 2024, as supported by the Belarusian diplomatic missions in Türkiye, a Belarusian Honorary Consul’s Office was inaugurated in Çanakkale. Under the charge of Rıdvan Demirhan, newly appointed Honorary Consul in Çanakkale, citizen of Türkiye, this consular mission will represent interests of our country in this province, north-west of Türkiye.
Those in attendance included Yuri Ambrazevich, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, Viktar Rybak, Belarus Ambassador to Türkiye, Aleksei Shved, Consul General of Belarus in Istanbul, from the Turkish Side – İlhami Aktaş, Governor of Çanakkale, Ambassador Murat Ahmet Yörük, MFA Representative in Çanakkale. There was a broad presence of senior representatives of the province and same-name city, business community, cultural figures, media.
The Deputy Foreign Minister and Governor of Çanakkale İlhami Aktaş made detailed reflections about the matters of co-operation in the short run.
During the event the Governorship of Çanakkale and Novogrudok District Executive Committee signed a Memorandum of Understanding. The Novogrudok District was represented by Deputy Chairperson Aliaksandr Hryts who also led a business delegation consisting of the directors of major Novogrudok businesses.
Later this afternoon, Deputy Foreign Minister Yuri Ambrazevich and staff of the Belarusian diplomatic missions in charge of trade and economy explored opportunities and prospects of bilateral economic co-operation at a meeting with the board and members of the Çanakkale Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The directors of Novogrudok companies held goal-oriented talks with Turkish partners.
On 3 April, the Novogrudok delegation had meetings at a few business associations of Çanakkale and visited manufacturing facilities across the province.
