Belarusian Cinema in Istanbul

On May 17, 2026, the screening of the Belarusian feature film “The Black Castle” took place at the Beyoğlu Cinema in Istanbul. The event was held as part of the 2nd Beyoğlu Film Festival.
The screening was organized by the Consulate General of the Republic of Belarus in Istanbul with the support of the Ministry of Culture of Belarus and the National Film Studio “Belarusfilm.” The event was attended by members of the diplomatic corps, business representatives, the Turkish public, and the Belarusian diaspora.
The audience was presented with a modern film adaptation of Vladimir Korotkevich’s classic masterpiece, “The Black Castle of Olshany.” The film garnered significant interest, introducing the Turkish public to the history, culture, and cinematic traditions of Belarus.
Such cultural initiatives contribute to the strengthening of humanitarian ties between Belarus and Türkiye, fostering deeper mutual understanding between the two nations through the art of cinema.
