Consul General of Belarus in Istanbul Attended the Zero Waste Forum 2026

On June 5, the international Zero Waste Forum commenced its work in Istanbul under the motto “Road to Antalya: Zero Waste as Climate Action,” ahead of the 31st Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP31), which will take place in Antalya from November 9 to 20, 2026. The forum is regarded as one of the international platforms for promoting practical solutions in the field of sustainable development, climate policy, and the circular economy.

The opening ceremony of the forum featured a speech by the First Lady of Türkiye, Emine Erdoğan, under whose patronage the Zero Waste movement is developing both in Türkiye and internationally. The event was attended by the Consul General of the Republic of Belarus in Istanbul, E. Bortkevich.

At the forum venue, the Consul General, together with the “InPitex” company, presented a project for organic waste recycling and premium fertilizer production. The presented initiative reflects a practical approach to implementing environmental solutions, developing the circular economy, and promoting modern technologies in the field of sustainable nature management.

The efforts of the Belarusian side on the sidelines of the forum are aimed at promoting domestic technological developments, establishing new business contacts, and expanding Belarusian-Turkish cooperation in the field of environmental and innovative projects
