On the Development of Belarusian-Turkish Cooperation in Cinematography
On October 21, 2026, Consul General of the Republic of Belarus in Istanbul E. Bortkevich, General Director of the National Film Studio “Belarusfilm” D. Semenov, and Deputy Head of the Department of Cinematography of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Belarus A. Korotchikova held a meeting with Kerem Ayan, Director of the Istanbul Film Festival.

The parties discussed the possibilities of participation of Belarusian films in the program of the Istanbul Film Festival in 2027, the exchange of experience in organizing festival events, and prospects for joint film production.
During the conversation, attention was also paid to animated films produced by the “Belarusfilm” National Film Studio and the opportunities for presenting them to the Turkish audience.
The Belarusian side invited Turkish colleagues to take part in the “Listapad” and “Animayovka” international film festivals, noting its interest in expanding professional contacts between the cinematographers of the two countries.
