About the event “z nagody Maslenitsa”

 On March 29, 2026, a festive Belarusian event "Winter Holidays" was held in the Turkish city of Geljuk with the support of local authorities. The main organizers of the celebration, which gathered more than 100 people, were the Kocaeli Association of Belarusians and the Consulate General of Belarus in Istanbul.

 

The grand opening of the festival took place with the participation of the Mayor of Geljuk (Kocaeli province) Ali Yildirim Sezer, who welcomed the guests and stressed the importance of cultural exchange between the peoples.

 

The program of folk festivals was filled with a master class on Shrovetide theme, contests, games and dances. No one was left indifferent by children's creativity. The participation of the officials underlined the high status of the event and the strength of friendly ties between the Belarusian and Turkish communities.

The guests took part in the traditional calls of spring, creating an atmosphere of unity. The holiday program was full of authentic Belarusian rituals. The traditional Belarusian event "Z nagody Maslenitsa" in Turkey is becoming an important platform for the consolidation of the Belarusian diaspora.

 

The event not only preserves the cultural code, but also introduces the residents of Kocaeli province to the rich heritage of Belarus, strengthening humanitarian bridges between the countries.
