Consul General Attended the Opening of the Ethnofestival and Supported the Belarusian “Gorodki” Team

On May 21, 2026, Consul General Evgeniya Bortkevich attended the solemn opening ceremony of the International Ethnofestival, dedicated to the preservation and promotion of traditional sports and cultures of the peoples of the world.

A highlights of the visit was the support extended during the main parade to the team from Belarus, which will showcase the national game of “Gorodki” at the festival.

Following the opening ceremony, the Consul General, alongside honored guests, visited the Belarusian venue, which hosted a demonstration match of “Gorodki”. The game generated significant interest among foreign participants and festival visitors.

The participation of the Belarusian team in the Ethnofestival provides an excellent opportunity to demonstrate the richness of Belarusian traditions and to strengthen the bridges of friendship between our peoples through sports and culture.
