On the eve of the New Year holidays, the Consulate General of the Republic of Belarus in Istanbul organized a meeting for Belarusian citizens.
08.12.2025The event took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere, bringing together the Belarusian community, children, and adults living in Istanbul. Guests were treated to a festive program featuring the Belarusian Theater for Young Audiences. The artists brought New Year's cheer, joy, and genuine emotions to the audience.
The Consul General of the Republic of Belarus in Istanbul, Yevgenia Bortkevich, spoke at the event. She noted that New Year is a family holiday, and meetings with compatriots abroad allow one to feel the atmosphere of home and the unity of the Belarusian people.
“When a Belarusian family gets together, it is always a celebration, no matter where we are. Such meetings help us maintain ties with our homeland, our culture, and our traditions,” emphasized E. Bortkevich.
The festive event was the first such meeting of the Belarusian diaspora in Istanbul. The Consulate General expressed hope that such meetings would become a good tradition and would bring compatriots together every year.
At the end of the celebration, participants exchanged congratulations and warm wishes for the coming New Year, as well as tasted sweet dishes of Belarusian cuisine.
