Consul General travels to Izmir

On 1-2 September 2023, Aleksei Shved, Consul General of Belarus in Istanbul, travelled to Izmir for a working visit.

On 1 September, Aleksei Shved held an onsite meeting in the office of the Belarusian Honorary Consul in Izmir with citizens of the Republic of Belarus residing in central and southern parts of the Consulate’s consular district. The event that brought together around 30 Belarusians saw an engaging dialogue about the living environment in Türkiye, consultations on pressing consular and legal matters, handling of some consular paperwork and formalities.

Upon the invitation of the Izmir Municipality, the Belarusian diplomat attended the opening of the 92nd Izmir International Fair. This year the Türkiye-oldest international forum lasting until 10 September has been set to celebrate the centenary of the Republic of Türkiye. Aleksei Shved talked with Mustafa Özuslu, First Vice Mayor of Izmir, through the opportunities of engaging stronger interregional co-operation.
