On participation in the 152nd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union and the 15th meeting of the Belarusian-Turkish Business Cooperation Council

From April 15 to 18, 2026, Istanbul is hosting the 152nd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), where topical issues of the international agenda and inter-parliamentary cooperation are being discussed.

Evgenia Bortkevich, Consul General of the Republic of Belarus in Istanbul, is taking part in the work of the Belarusian parliamentary delegation at this session.

During the meetings, participants are considering the coordination of foreign policy activities of the parliamentary delegations of the CSTO member states within the IPU, as well as other topics of mutual interest, including confidence-building, ensuring international security, and developing inter-parliamentary dialogue.

As part of the visit of the parliamentary delegation of the Republic of Belarus, the 15th joint meeting of the Belarusian-Turkish Business Cooperation Council was held in Istanbul on April 16, 2026. The meeting was opened by Sergei Aleinik, Chairman of the Standing Commission of the Council of the Republic for International Affairs.

Meetings were also held with the Independent Industrialists and Businessmen Association (MÜSİAD) and the Anatolian Lions Businessmen Association (ASKON).

The parties exchanged information materials on export and investment opportunities, discussed key aspects of bilateral trade and economic cooperation, priority areas for expanding partnership, and plans for organizing the exchange of business delegations.

Following the Council meeting, targeted B2B negotiations took place between Belarusian and Turkish companies. Business representatives discussed roadmaps for the implementation of specific investment projects, including those in the chemical and light industries, and agreed to continue a substantive dialogue on increasing mutual trade and joint investments.
