05.02.2026
On February 4, 2026, the Consul General of the Republic of Belarus in Istanbul, Mrs. Yauheniya Bartkevich, together with a Belarusian company specializing in the development and implementation of organic fertilizer technologies, took part in the opening ceremony of the international agricultural exhibition «Agroexpo 2026» in Izmir.

As part of the forum, a round table discussion titled «Practical Solutions for the Restoration of Degraded Lands and Recycling of Organic Waste – Investment in the Future» was held for Turkish companies interested in cooperation in the fields of eco-friendly agriculture, organic waste recycling, and soil fertility restoration. Participants exchanged best practices and discussed prospects for the joint production of organic fertilizers based on innovative Belarusian technologies.

On February 5, a meeting took place in Istanbul with Ibrahim Taşdemir, Secretary General of the Turkish Hoteliers Association (TÜROB). The Belarusian side presented a unique project for the utilization of food waste from hotels, particularly those operating under the “all-inclusive” system, for subsequent use in the production of organic fertilizers.

The initiative received support from the Turkish side — the parties agreed to promptly work out all details and launch a pilot project in Turkish hotels, as the new tourist season is approaching. The implementation of this program will make a significant contribution to reducing food waste, promoting green technologies, and strengthening Belarus–Türkiye cooperation in the field of environmental protection and sustainable development.
